The Illinois Small Business Development Center at UIC helps emerging and established business owners start, scale and succeed in business! Our aim is to help you identify and access the tools and resources to build a prosperous venture. We work with both Chicagoland entrepreneurs, and students and faculty & staff at UIC.
Since 2002, the Illinois SBDC at UIC has served over 2000 entrepreneurs who launched over 200 new businesses, creating and retaining over 2600 jobs and securing over $85 million in funding. Last year, the Illinois SBDC at UIC helped clients secure loans and equity investment, successfully register patents, and apply for SBIR funding.
The Illinois SBDC at UIC is funded and supported by the UIC College of Business Administration, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, and the U. S. Small Business Administration.
The Illinois SBDC at UIC offers in-person workshops, and one-on-one advising and mentoring, and referrals to expert resources that can help business owners better understand and access help with market analysis, business planning, debt financing, equity investment, startup leadership and other important topics.
Through the sponsorship of the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, the Illinois SBDC at UIC has access to GrowthWheel® a framework that entrepreneurs and their teams can use to identify decisions that need to be made and actions that needs to be taken.
